Jacqueline Redwine (b.1971, Austin, TX) is a multidisciplinary artist based in San Antonio, Texas. Rooted in her Hispanic heritage, her work explores personal history, cultural traditions, and identity. Her artistic journey began in Austin, Texas, where she earned an associate degree in studio art at Austin Community College (ACC). While at ACC, she received several scholarships, including the Gus & Marina Garcia Endowed Scholarship and the ACC Foundation Open Scholarship, and exhibited her work at TAG (The Art Gallery). She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Texas, San Antonio (UTSA), where she was awarded the Seldon Leavell Endowed Scholarship and is a member of Tau Sigma National Honor Society.
Redwine works primarily in ceramics, engaging with the tactile nature of clay to explore themes of fragility and resilience. She complements this practice with printmaking, drawing, painting, and photography. Her ceramic work focuses on form, texture, and the meditative processes of shaping and firing. Printmaking and drawing provide a foundation for her compositions, while photography offers new ways to document fleeting moments and study light.
Inspired by the complexities of identity and cultural memory, Redwine’s work seeks to evoke connection and introspection. Her recent exhibitions at TAG Art Lab include "Atomic Thoughts," an intaglio print, and collaborative and solo silk screen prints such as "Untitled 24" and "Sea Life." Through her multidisciplinary approach, she aims to create pieces inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with each work's physical and emotional layers.
